Trying the interactive demo

Before you put in a single item of your own, you can walk through a working café that already has its numbers filled in. It’s the real product, not a video or a slideshow, and it needs no email or credit card.

Starting it

On the ShelfCount home page, choose Try the live demo. That spins up a sample café called Sunrise Café (Demo), signs you in, and drops you on the dashboard. Nothing you do in there touches a real account.

What’s already in it

The demo is stocked so every screen has something to show:

• Inventory items with real pack sizes and costs.
• Vendors with par levels, and a few purchase orders.
• Prep and menu recipes, costed down to the lid.
• About four weeks of sales, so the food-cost and profitability reports have numbers to work with.
• Price history, submitted counts, and a half-finished count you can pick up.

Change anything you like. It’s a sandbox, so nothing is precious.

The guided tour

A short tour walks you through each section in order, from items to counts to recipes to reports. You can hide it any time and explore on your own, then bring it back from the demo banner if you want to keep going.

What’s stubbed out

The POS and receipt-inbox connections aren’t wired to anything real in the demo. The catalog and sales you’re looking at came pre-loaded from a pretend point-of-sale; in a real account you’d connect your own on the settings page. So the Sync now button has nothing to talk to here.

What happens to it afterward

A demo café deletes itself after 24 hours, along with everything in it. When you’re ready for the real thing, use Start your free trial from the demo banner. That creates a fresh, empty account of your own, and your 14-day trial starts then. Nothing carries over from the demo, which is the point: your account starts clean.
